Frank Taddeo is of counsel with the law firm of Solten Rosen & Balakhovsky LLP. He has more than 25 years of legal expertise and experience in a wide variety of transactional and litigation matters at the federal, state and appellate court levels, including a number of successful trials and appeals before the U. S. Court of Appeal and U.S. PTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Among other matters, Mr. Taddeo currently concentrates his practice in the areas of trademark, copyright, unfair competition and domain name disputes, as well as in complex business and real property transactions and litigation. In addition to his successful copyright and trademark litigation practice, Mr. Taddeo also represents companies and individuals in licensing and contractual negotiations involving creation, distribution, publishing and marketing of creative works of art, including fine art, books and periodicals, original music scores and film projects and productions.
Mr. Taddeo is also expert and has a wide range of legal experience representing clients in commercial litigation and bankruptcy proceedings and in domestic relations and divorce matters. In addition, Mr. Taddeo is a well-recognized authority in real estate and insurance matters and has served as general counsel to the Forest Hills Gardens Corp. and as an outside counsel to the Guardian Life Insurance Co. He also published a highly praised treatise and guidebook on law for non-lawyers, and has written many articles for the New York Law Journal on a number of different legal topics, including intellectual property, licensing, real estate and domestic relations.

Mr. Taddeo successfully represented and served as chief trial counsel in a wide variety of copyright and trademark actions at the district court and appeal court levels. Among his many clients, Mr. Taddeo successfully represented such well-know artists and musicians as pianist Byron Janis, jazz artist Kenny Baron, writer Sonya Games, sculptor Mico Kaufman and actress Morgana King in various intellectual property and other legal matters. Mr. Taddeo has also obtained successful results in a number of appeals from district court decisions to the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. He is also currently an active member of the defense team in a lawsuit involving Philip Morris and Smartrade.
Mr. Taddeo served as counsel with RCA (BMG) Records and managed the legal and business affairs of the international division of the Franklin Mint, a subsidiary of a Warner Communications. He also successfully represented clients as both lead trial and appellate counsel in complex intellectual property disputes before the U.S. Court of Appeals, U.S. PTO Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, New York state courts and U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
